Welcome to Our Band Family, Beginners!

We hope you are all enjoying these last few days of summer, and that you got a chance to visit Lopez MS for Panther Prowl last night! We are beyond excited to see everyone in band classes on Monday! Below is just a bit of information for the first few days of school for band.

  • Please bring your instruments and ALL band supplies on the 2nd day of school. Do NOT bring on 1st day. Please have all of your equipment labeled with your name.
  • All band students have been assigned a band locker for this new school year. Advanced band students do NOT have the same locker as last year, so please do not place your equipment in a locker without checking in. Beginning on Tuesday morning before school, all band students should come to the band hall with your equipment and check-in at table with directors for your locker assignment. Students will be required to sign a locker agreement form at this check-in before you are allowed use of a band locker. We will not use locks this year, so no need to purchase one. This space will simply be a cubby to keep your BAND supplies in throughout the school day.
  • We will be providing all students with a black band binder on the first day of school that has been organized with index tabs for you and some important paperwork that will go home to parents to sign. If you’d like to get a head start on organizing your band binder further, please feel free to purchase a 3-ring pencil pouch that you will keep in your band binder always. You will not share this pencil pouch with other classes. Please also start with at least 2 sharpened or mechanical pencils and one highlighter to keep in your pencil pouch.

We hope you all have a great weekend! Get ready for the best part of your middle school years…….BAND!!!
